How to Restore Azure BACPAC Backup Files in Local MS SQL?

Due to reducing cost if you are going to move your database from Azure to local server then you have to follow few steps. As you download Azure SQL backup in .bacpac files. How to Restore Azure BacPac file to MS SQL Database?

To do this you will need Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) (any express or full version) & also you need .bacpac backup files.

1.Just open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
2. Under SQL Server you can see Databases > Right Click on Database >Select Import Data-tier Application as same showing in below image




3. Now you are able to see Import Data-tier Application wizard which will help you to restore data from .bacpac files. Click on next.


4. Now here is the option to select path where .BACPAC files are stored and also you have option if you need to restore database directly from Azure server. But for now we are going to select local path click on browse. 



5. Navigate the folder where you .bacpac files are stored and select it.



6. After selecting .bacpac file click on next.




7. Here you are able to see where data file is going to create & where log file is going to create you can change it as per your requirements and click on next.



8. Now here you can summary and click on next.



9. Now click on next it will take some time it depends upon .bacpac file size/your database file size and you can see once process complete message and you can see result as success and click on close.
